First… Read the email they send you thoroughly. I didn’t and only took one extra change of clothes, they asked for three.
Nice to get a phone call the previous day to confirm the booking. Good directions to the venue, good parking in the mill car park. Friendly people from the moment you walk in the door. The shoot itself was very relaxed and we even managed a few laughs even though I could tell it had been a busy day for the photographer. A mixture of portrait and poses… just follow direction and it goes by so fast.
Back to reception where you sit and wait for the management guy to call you in to his office and go through the shots and give you an assessment. It was approx another 90 minutes before I saw him but the wait is justifed when you realise that he’s not rushing you out of the door and everyone he sees gets his full attention… it takes as long as it takes, which is frustrating in the waiting area but much appreciated when it’s your turn.
I won’t discuss what was said in our meeting as it is considered confidential… however, I did get emails from two major agencies this morning, interested in putting me on their books.Ian Richard Colman
